Catalog description

This course engages the thinking of Paulo Freire, who was unarguably one of the most important educational contemporary philosophers. People struggling for liberation in all parts of the world have engaged Freire as a key educational component of their political projects. This course considers what are the possibilities and limitations of Freirean pedagogy for helping people name and change a social and educational reality premised upon inequality. Also, the course looks at the work of those who apply, extend, critique, and reinvent the Freirean perspectives. This class offers a unique transdiciplinary, multidisciplinary, and interdisciplinary approach. Restricted to major of PHD-TLC. Restricted to level of DR.
