Pediatric Acute Care

Catalog description

This graduate level nursing course focuses on the assessment and management of complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions or problems of children and adolescents within the context of the family and crisis situations in various intensive care settings. Emphasis will be on interventions for patient stabilization, minimization of complications, promoting physical and psychological well being, restoring maximal health potential, and evaluating for risk factors in achieving these outcomes. Prerequisite: Department approval required. Corequisite: NURS 5359 Acute Pediatric Practicum.
