Catalog description

This practicum provides Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) students with immersive, supervised clinical experiences in high-acuity and acute care settings. Building on foundational clinical skills, students will manage complex health conditions in adult and older adult populations, applying advanced diagnostic reasoning, evidence-based interventions, and interprofessional collaboration. Board exam review and preparation provided within this course. 180 in person clinical practicum hours done with an approved preceptor emphasizes comprehensive assessment,interpretation of diagnostic data, and implementation of treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic conditions across multiple organ systems. Students will refine procedural skills, prioritize care in dynamic environments, and demonstrate safe, ethical, and culturally competent practice.
