Pediatrics Advanced Practicum B. Part B of the Advanced Practicum course continues to integrate the bioemedical, psychological, and social elements of nurse practitioner practice. Under the supervision of an experienced preceptor, students will provide in-depth, advanced practice nursing care to children and adolescents with complex health problems. There is an emphasis on integrating current nursing and biomedical research evidence into the clinical decision-making process. Professional issues relevant to nurse practitioners will be explored. A minimum of 150 hours of supervised, direct patient care are required to demonstrate competency.
