Advanced Psychiatric Mental Health Practicum II: The second course of two graduate level advanced practicum courses continues to build on knowledge of theoretical foundations of advanced psychiatric nursing practice and provides a synthesis experience during which students implement the role of the PMHNP. The focus is on assessment and intervention of clients with mental illness and persons/ populations at risk for mental illness, and primary prevention in mental health across the lifespan. Interprofessional collaboration with other health care providers is emphasized. This supervised practicum includes 180 clinical hours.
