Catalog description

This foundational didactic course introduces Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) students to the principles of managing acute and complex health conditions in adult and older adult populations. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for high-acuity illnesses across multiple organ systems. Students will explore age-related physiological changes, comorbidities, and the impact of social determinants of health on care delivery. The course integrates advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic reasoning to prepare students for clinical decision-making in acute settings.
