Catalog description

This course focuses on the development of advanced procedural and technical competencies required by Adult-Gerontology and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners ) AGACNP in high-acuity and critical care environments. Students will gain hands-on simulation lab experience with evidence-based interventions and invasive procedures commonly performed in acute care settings, including vascular access, airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and point-of-care ultrasound. The course emphasizes clinical judgement, patient safety while integrating ethical and legal considerations for advanced practice. Simulation-based learning and supervised clinical practice will prepare students to perform complex skills with precision and confidence in diverse acute care populations.
