Pediatric Acute Care IIB (0-0-8) This graduate level nursing course is the fourth in a series of five practicum courses for those preparing to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care. With the guidance and supervision of a preceptor, emphasis is on continued development of advanced clinical skills, exploring evidence- based research and their application to the plan of care for pediatric patients in the acute and chronic intermediate and critical care healthcare settings, such as Specialty Clinics , Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room, General hospital units and Pediatric Intensive Unit within the context. A minimum of 120 hours of supervised, direct patient care are required to demonstrate competency.
