Catalog description

This course focuses on the development of advanced diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making for Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner students. Emphasizing evidence-based practice, the course integrates advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, and physical assessment to develop proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and managing complex health conditions in acutely critical ill adult and older adult populations.Students will learn to interpret and synthesize data from advanced diagnostic modalities, including laboratory studies, imaging, and point-of-care technologies, while considering age- related physiological changes and comorbidities. The course focuses on differential diagnosis, prioritization of care, and application of diagnostic algorithms in high-acuity settings.
