Adult Health Nursing II This course focuses on the care of adult and older adult patients with complex medical and/or surgical health alterations. Emphasis is placed on the nursing care of patients with alterations in selected body systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, renal/urinary, and neurosensory. Management of acid-base disorders, toxic ingestions, and hemodynamic monitoring will also be addressed. Concepts of health promotion, health education, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration, patient centered care, cultural sensitivity, informatics, safe practice, and professionalism will be integrated throughout the course. Clinical experiences provide the students an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe care to patients and selected groups in a variety of settings.
