HIST 4324 : This course familiarizes students with the historian's craft and affords students the opportunity to develop their skills as a historian. The course is designed as an intensive, hands-on course allowing students to practice the methods of historical research without the the constraints of writing a long research paper. As a skills-based class, students will learn to conduct library research, use electronic databases, analyze primary sources, read secondary sources critically, construct a research proposal, and cite sources according to the Chicago Manual of Citation.
