Catalog description

This machine learning course builds a crucial AI foundation for Earth's study. It merges geoscience principles with machine learning tools, enabling students to analyze diverse Earth datasets. Students will learn data preprocessing, feature extraction, and algorithms like decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, support vector machines, and neural networks for geoscientific problem-solving. Hands-on coding projects for classification and regression include land cover classification, geospatial predictions, resource estimation, social patterns and climate and earth system modeling.
