AI: Geospatial Models & Tech

Catalog description

This course explores deep learning techniques with applications in earth and environmental sciences. Students will learn CNNs, RNNs, transformers, generative AI and reinforcement learning, applying them to big tabular data, images, model outputs, geospatial analysis, and autonomous systems. A weekly lab session provides hands-on AI coding practice. Culminating in a hands-on project, students will apply deep learning to a research problem in their area of interest, gaining practical AI experience for science and industry.
