Catalog description

The course introduces graduate engineering students to the concepts, theory, and practice of engineering law and ethics. Engineers must act professionally, ethically, and socially responsibly in diverse contexts. They must apply codes of ethics and understand how the legal system influences their practice. Students will study real-world case studies to learn about the legal and ethical responsibilities of engineering. This course will provide an introductory understanding of the legal framework under which engineers work, topics such as contracts, torts, and intellectual property.
