School Counseling Internship I

Catalog description

The National Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) requires a 60-hour program for national accreditation. The course helps to meet not only the 60-hour program requirement for accreditation but also CACREP supervised counseling internship requirement of 700 hours. These hours are split across three courses: 1. EDPC 5369 - Practicum (required 100 hrs.), 2. EDPC 5376 - SC Internship I (required 300 hrs.) 3. EDPC 5377 - SC Internship II (300 hrs.). These experiences provide more hands-on, in-depth, impactful counseling services to student-clients who represent the ethnic and demographic make-up of the El Paso community.
