Race, Ethnicity, and Schools

Catalog description

The goal of the course is to provide students with the opportunity to engage with extant theoretical perspectives positioned at the intersection of race relations and schooling in the United States. The course aims to have students examine the role of educational pedagogy, interests and ideology in mediating student outcomes. Students will develop the tools and competencies to critically analyze and evaluate the contemporaneous process of policy implementation in education.
