Catalog description

This course explores the theoretical foundations of Early Childhood Education. It focuses on various perspectives of child development and conceptualizations of human motivation and learning that influence the care and education of young children. Students will critically evaluate the thinking of foundational theoretical leaders and related theoretical frameworks that serve as the basis for approaches, pedagogical practice, and empirical investigation within the field.
