MIDI and Film Score

Catalog description

Designed for both music majors and non-majors, this course introduces students to the Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) sequencing using computer software and keyboard synthesizers. Students will learn how to apply basic music theory, Foley sound effects, creation of virtual synthesizers, and film score. Hands-on projects are completed throughout the semester culminating in sound design, sound effects, and composition for film.
