Catalog description

Industrial System Safety Engineering (ISSE) focuses on providing a solid understanding of the concepts of hazard identification and risk management, the development of a safety-oriented patterns of thinking and risk-based decision making taking an overall holistic approach. The tools that will be discussed in this course will be those used by industry in managing operations, identifying hazards, and controlling risks and will provide a strong basis to students to be able to recognize, understand, and analyze hazards and assessing the associated risks in contemporary complex systems in operating facilities. Junior or senior level status in Engineering.
