Catalog description
This course offers a conceptual understanding of Earth’s climate system and its variability on timescales from diurnal, seasonal to multidecadal. It reviews past climate history, the present mean state, and the processes driving variability and long-term change. Attention is given to both global patterns and regional expressions, including the Texas Gulf, the Caribbean, and adjacent land areas. The course also explores plausible future climate scenarios and evaluates mitigation and adaptation strategies. Cross listed with ATSC 4335 . Spring.
