Methods for Teaching Emergent Bilingual Students

Catalog description

Basic methodological strategies and assessment skills required to teach language arts in the elementary bilingual classroom are provided. Emphasis is on teaching in Spanish. A study of the rationale, theories, and best practice methodology for meeting the cognitive, linguistic and affective needs of Emergent Bilingual students in EC-12 bilingual and ESL settings. Particular attention will be paid to best practice methodology and content area development in Spanish for those seeking Bilingual certification.
