Catalog description

The course provides prospective music teachers with a beginning foundation for understanding learners, enhancing student achievement, and understanding the music teaching environment. The course will emphasize the structure, organization, management, and governance of the American school system and current issues related to teaching music. The legal, ethical, and multicultural foundations of teaching will be discussed. Prerequisites: Completion of JLPE and acceptance into music teacher preparation program (EPP).
