Topics in World Literature

Catalog description

This course explores literatures from around the world and may focus on a specific theme, genre, or cultural context. Among possible topics are: literatures in translation, comparative literature, modern literary trends, and regional and global literary traditions. Students will engage with texts in translation and will consider how literature shapes and is shaped by historical circumstances, cultural and linguistic heritage, social relationships, and the increasing global exchange of ideas. Prerequisites: ENG 1302 .
