Catalog description
Note: This course satisfies the “Language, Philosophy, and Culture” or “Component Area” options in the Core Curriculum. This course analyzes texts that consider the relationship between important social categories (e.g., class, race, and nationality) and that explore different experiences that constitute our world in a variety of genres. Students will learn to examine cross-cultural connections between texts to reveal a deeper understanding of identity and relations across different contexts and how literature is a site of cultural exchange, empowerment, and transformation. Prerequisite ENG 1302 .
