Catalog description

This course provides students an in-depth study of professional counseling roles in the school setting. Students practice the application of comprehensive school counseling needs assessments and program development, implementation, and evaluation. Students will collaborate with school stakeholders and discuss the school counselor as an educational leader and student advocate in the school setting. Additionally, students will apply their understanding of counseling theories and skills to address crisis in schools and providing responsive services in a school setting. Prerequisite(s): COUN 5352 Foundations of School Counseling and admission to EPP or Permission from School Counseling Emphasis Coordinator.<br/>
