Catalog description
This course prepares choral music education majors to use the piano effectively in a teaching environment. In a private lesson setting, students will develop functional keyboard skills that support part learning, score-reading, warm-up design, and harmonic modeling. Emphasis is placed on making accurate real-time keyboard decisions-including when to play, how to adjust voicing or key, and when to remove the piano to promote independent singing. This course culminates in a Capstone project that demonstrates the skills refined throughout the course. Prerequisites: C or better in MUSI 3105 .
