Catalog description

Designed to meet the needs of students across varied program areas, the course emphasizes practical application of research concepts to real-world educational settings. Students will extend the knowledge developed in EDUC 5394 /5367 by producing a brief educational research paper or presentation. The course begins with an overview of the three major research approaches - quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs. Within each design, students will learn how to identify research problems, conduct a literature review, and collect and analyze data. Emphasis is placed on quantitative and qualitative methods with a brief introduction to mixed-methods research. Prerequisite: EDUC 5394 or EDUC 5367 .
