Catalog description

This introductory course provides an overview of the research process in educational research. Students develop an understanding of the major stages of research, including formulating research questions, conducting literature reviews, selecting research designs, collecting and analyzing data, and interpreting results. The course introduces foundational terminology commonly used in research literature and examines the primary research approaches in education, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods designs. Throughout the course, diverse research contexts will be incorporated to address the needs and interests of students from different program areas. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify key components of the research process and critically evaluate the overall quality of published studies.
