INTRODUCTION TO HUMAN IDENTIFICATION.

Catalog description

This course examines the scientific principles, technologies, and investigative strategies used in the identification of human remains. Topics include the recovery and analysis of skeletal and dental evidence, fingerprint and DNA identification, forensic anthropology, radiographic comparison, and the use of medical and personal effects in the identification process. Emphasis is placed on multidisciplinary collaboration, quality assurance, and the legal and ethical considerations surrounding human identification in both mass disaster and routine casework contexts. Prerequisite: CRCJ 3370 .
