This course examines how crime opportunities are shaped by situational characteristics and the physical environment and methods of crime prevention. The main areas covered in this course include theories of environmental criminology, offender decision making, crime and place, and situational crime prevention. Implications for preventing victimization and increasing the effectiveness of law enforcement are also emphasized.
