Catalog description
This course covers the fundamentals of lighting and illumination systems in buildings (electric and natural lighting) to provide energy efficiency and visual comfort in a variety of architectural spaces. Topics include lighting calculation and standard for buildings using modern techniques and simulation, lighting equipment requirements for building, lamp characteristics, electric lighting system design and control and basic illuminating engineering design. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in AREN 3346 ; Permission of CE Chair or Admission to the AREN Professional Program.
