Catalog description
This course covers electrical fundamentals (single-phase, three-phase systems, transformers), building distribution systems and materials, application of electrical science to building electrical systems' design and specification, load estimation, voltage selection, panel boards, switchboards, equipment layout, grounding, voltage drop considerations, safety and protection systems, and compliance with national electrical codes and standards. Prerequisite:Grade of C or better in MATH 2425 (or HONR-SC 2425) and PHYS 1444 ; Permission of CE Chair or Admission to the AREN Professional Program.
