Catalog description
An introduction to the significant geophysical and soil science properties and behavior of materials making up the earth's crust as they apply to civil engineering, sources of materials, classification, plasticity, permeability, stress distribution, consolidation, shear strength, and settlement. Also an introduction to basic foundation engineering concepts. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AREN 2313 ; Concurrent enrollment in AREN 3143 ; Permission of the CE Chair or Admission to the AREN Professional Program.
