Concepts of stress and strain; stress-strain relationships. Behavior of members subjected to tension, compression, shear, bending, torsion, and combined loading. Deflections and elastic curves, shear and bending moment diagrams for beams, and column theory. Prerequisites: Grade of C or better in AREN 2312 ; Grade of C or better in MATH 2425 .
