Catalog description

Professional Practice prepares graduate students for the transition from academic training to the profession, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and ethical framework necessary for leadership in architecture. The course examines legal, contractual, and regulatory standards, as well as professional ethics, business operations, and firm management. Emphasis is placed on strategic decision-making, collaborative practice, and leadership within complex design and business contexts. Students explore the evolving roles of architects in a dynamic, interdisciplinary, and socially responsible profession, including opportunities to advance sustainability, equity, and innovation in practice. Prerequisites: ARCH 5304 , ARCH 5327 , ARCH 5336 , and ARCH 5694 . Corequisites: Credit or enrolled in ARCH 5696 .
