HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE III: ANALYSIS OF BUILDINGS, DRAWINGS AND TEXTS.

Catalog description

This course examines key agendas and approaches to the creation and interpretation of 20th- and 21st-century architecture through in-depth analysis of a select number of case studies. Seminal works and texts serve as the primary focus, supported by references to significant alternative precedents. Emphasis is placed on close analysis of buildings, drawings, and texts as primary vehicles of inquiry, complemented by insights drawn from literature, art, philosophy, film, and other critical media. Prerequisite: "C" or better in ARCH 1302 and ARCH 2303 . Restricted to declared Architecture majors. Minimum 2.8 GPAs both cumulative and within the major required. Corequisite: ARCH 3506 .
