Catalog description

Examines knowledge and techniques related to child physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, as well as physical and emotional neglect, across populations and practice settings. The course includes interviewing, identification, legal issues, assessment and evaluation, and follow-up. Attention is given to how individual, family, and environmental factors influence assessment, intervention, and service delivery. Prerequisite: SOCW 5311 ; Co-requisite: SOCW 5362 OR SOCW 5352 OR SOCW 5342 . Please note that if the co-requisite course is dropped, this will be as well.
