Catalog description

This course exposes students to foundational literature while emphasizing skills in leadership, discussion facilitation, and mentoring. In addition to academic engagement, students will complete a service learning project that strengthens their understanding of civic engagement and provides meaningful contributions to the community. This course prepares undergraduates for mentorship in civic engagement through the study of foundational and transformative texts in democratic thought and civic life. Students will explore how liberal arts education fosters public responsibility and community building. Prerequisite: POLS 2311 and POLS 2312 .
