Catalog description

Difference equations, z- and w- transforms, discrete TF (Transfer Function). Discrete equivalence (DE) to continuous TF. Aliasing & Nyquist sampling theorem. Design by DE, root locus in z- plane & Youla parameterization. Discrete state- space model, minimality after sampling, pole placement, Moore-Kimura method, linear quadratic regulator, asymptotic observer. Computer simulation and/or laboratory implementation. Also offered as AE 5380 . Credit will be granted only once. Prerequisite: undergraduate level controls course or equivalent.
