This course is designed to provide undergraduate students an overview of the basic, preclinical, and clinical sciences, emphasizing the main principles and logic of medicine, how doctors think, and how the healthcare system works. Specific topics covered include an Introduction to Medicine, Embryology & Principles of Anatomy, General & Systems Physiology, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Microbiology & Immunology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Epidemiology & Public Health, Internal Medicine specialties (Cardiology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Hematology / Oncology), Neurology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Surgical Subspecialties (Cardiovascular Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Dermatology, Urology, Neurosurgery), Psychiatry, Radiology and Radiation Oncology.
