Catalog description

This course examines laws, codes, and regulatory processes applied to the built environment including Federal, State, and local codes. Students learn the integration of codes, Federal laws, and standards in the design process and apply concepts to design solutions. Awareness of building systems is emphasized as students learn about the codes and standards organizations, communication strategies, and processes that impact the practice of interior design and their role on interdisciplinary teams. Prerequisite: Credit or concurrent enrollment in INTD 3453 . Junior standing in the program. Restricted to Interior Design and Architecture majors.
