Catalog description

This course examines the application of biomechanics and human performance engineering to improve occupational safety and health and prevent incidents through design. Students will study human musculoskeletal function, anthropometry, motion analysis, and force measurement, and learn to apply these principles to the design of work systems, tools, and equipment. Emphasis is placed on quantitative assessment methods, ergonomic interventions, and design strategies to minimize injury risk and enhance performance in safety-critical environments.
