Catalog description

An examination of the various movements that sought to radically alter the political and economic structure of the United States in the decades since the Civil War. This course examines the development of and differences between revolutionary movements such as anarchism, socialism, communism, and the New Left. Particular attention is given to the circumstances that gave rise to radical movements, the goals of these movements, how they attempted to achieve their goals, and the impact that they had on American society. Prerequisites: Either HIST 1302 or HIST 1332 .
