Catalog description

This course explores the intersection of mental health and the U.S. correctional system, including the challenges, policies, and practices associated with addressing mental health issues within correctional facilities. Students will gain an understanding of the prevalence and impact of mental illness among incarcerated individuals, the legal and ethical considerations surrounding mental health care in correctional settings, and various approaches to assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.
