Catalog description

This course introduces pre-health students to essential histopathology techniques through hands-on laboratory work. Students learn how to prepare tissues-including fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining-and to analyze microscopic structures using guided microscopy and digital slides. By comparing healthy and diseased tissues through case studies, students develop diagnostic reasoning and an understanding of how tissue structure relates to disease. The course builds a strong foundation in histological techniques and their applications in clinical and research settings. Prerequisites: BIOL 3442 or BIOL 3446 .
