Catalog description

Design Studio IV explores architecture that responds to environmental, climatic, and socio-economic conditions. Students develop strategies that enhance energy performance, material expression, and site integration through iterative making, analysis, and precedent-informed inquiry. The studio emphasizes the integration of program, structure, and environmental systems to create architecture that is innovative, responsible, and socially engaged. Projects confront pressing social and environmental challenges, encouraging solutions that are both contextually grounded and forward-thinking. Prerequisite: ARCH 5693 Corequisite: ARCH 5375 .
