Catalog description

Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. A course in the basic cellular mechanisms and general manifestations of disease. Clinical and anatomical/morphological aspects of various diseases are used for illustration. Upon completion of this course, the student will have a basic medical vocabulary, understand the basic mechanisms of disease and understand the descriptive terms used in the medical discipline of pathology. Prerequisites: CHEM 227 and CHEM 228 , or equivalent; junior or senior classification; biomedical sciences major, biomedical engineering major or related field.
