Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Overview of the history and practice of how urban areas are planned and developed to include influencing factors that precipitated the field of urban planning in the United States; examine the planning process, comprehensive planning and the nature and scope of various planning fields of practice; studies the legal, administrative, social and political contexts within which planning takes place; explores trends and contemporary concerns in urban planning practice to include disparities in impact of planning efforts.
