Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Introduction to the principles of contract formation and legal risks; comprehensive discussion of negotiation techniques and skills; distinctive characteristics of contracting, the team concept for effective contracting, as well as the role of the program managers as a key team member; subcontract management, competitive negotiation techniques, contract financing, and cost reimbursement as it relates to contracts; general theories or liability, intellectual property, employment law and litigation as it relates to legal risk; negotiation techniques through exercises and simulations. Prerequisite: Admission to the Master of Engineering Technical Management program.
