Credits 3. 3 Lecture Hours. Critical analysis of the principal foundational sociological concepts and theories in the writings of Marx, Durkheim, Weber and DuBois and other relevant theories that may include but are not limited to Martineau, Gramsci, Mead and Simmel, their explanatory power and their influence on current theory. Objectives include understanding how to operationalize concepts and use theory to develop research questions and hypotheses or propositions. Prerequisites: Graduate classification.
